Dear Cavalier Families,

Welcome to the 2026–2027 school year! The wait is almost over—tomorrow, Monday, August 24, is officially the first day of school!  How exciting!

On behalf of our teachers, district staff, Board of Education, and myself, I want to send a warm welcome to all returning and new Cavalier families. Thank you for choosing Carrollton Public Schools. Thank you also to everyone who joined us for our Welcome Back Cavaliers event and the Great Cavalier Food Truck Festival. It was wonderful to see our community come together, tour our spaces, and celebrate the start of what is sure to be an outstanding school year!

Over the last few weeks, our teachers and staff have been preparing, and they are so excited to welcome your children back into the classrooms. Their energy, passion, and commitment to working with each and every one of our Cavaliers will make this year truly special.

We believe deeply in our Cavaliers and remain fully devoted to continuing our proud tradition of excellence. As we launch our new Strategic Plan this year, our promise to every student and family is grounded in our new mission statement: Inspiring students to unlock their full potential through high-quality learning experiences in a supportive environment. In this, we will incorporate our belief statements for every Cavalier:

At Carrollton Public Schools, we believe:

  • in the whole child, whole family, whole community experience.

  • every family is welcome and entitled to a world-class education.

  • all children can learn.

  • family and community collaboration and teamwork create success.

  • growth is more important than perfection.

  • in preparing our children to thrive in an ever-changing world.

  • in honoring the past while embracing the future.

  • every employee contributes to the world class education of our children.

  • in each other.

Achieving these goals requires strong collaboration between our schools, families, and community, and we are committed to partnering with you. Here are a few easy ways to stay connected and maintain open communication this year:

  • Community Forums: Starting in October, join me for friendly chats to share ideas and ask questions about our schools.

  • Board Meetings: Our School Board meets on the third Monday of every month at 6:30pm in the High School library. All are welcome!

  • Open Communication: We welcome two-way communication.  Please call our administration and building offices, talk with our teachers, and/or visit classrooms through scheduled appointments. We believe that working together helps our students succeed.

Thank you for trusting us with your children. We cannot wait to see our halls filled with student energy and bright smiles tomorrow morning (7:45 AM start time for traditional buildings and 8:10 AM for Omni High School).

I am always available to you and welcome open communication—whether through a conversation, phone call, or visit. I can be reached at (989) 754-1475, ext. 0, tpeterson@gocavs.net, or by scheduled appointment with my Executive Assistant, Mrs. Allie Davenport.

Let's make it an amazing year through our shared dedication to living out #theCavalierDifference for #EveryCavEveryDay!

With Cavalier Pride,

Tiffany L. Peterson, Ed.S
