August 24, 2025
Dear Carrollton Public Schools Students and Families,
All of the educators at Carrollton Public Schools are excited to see every Cavalier on the first day, Monday August 25, 2025! If you are new to us, welcome! If you are returning, welcome back! We look forward to providing every student an amazing whole-child learning experience and a promising 2025-26 school year!
This is a great time to be a part of Carrollton Public Schools. We are a safe school district with an aligned curriculum, available support for all students, and extracurricular opportunities to fit every interest. We believe in educating differently and we are committed to the success of every Cavalier!
As you prepare for a successful school year, consider the following tips:
Stay informed: Regularly check school communications, newsletters, and the district website for updates and important information.
Engage with teachers: Stay in touch with your child’s teachers, attend parent-teacher conferences, and reach out with questions or concerns.
Support learning at home: Create a quiet space for your child to learn at home. Also, encourage reading and homework/study routines.
Encourage involvement: Participate in school events, volunteer in your child’s classroom, and attend Cavalier Family Forums.
Prioritize attendance: Ensure your child attends school regularly and on time each day.
Utilize school resources: Take advantage of counseling services, tutoring programs, and extracurricular activities such as sports, plays, and Esports.
We want to work together with our families so that a strong school to home partnership is created for every student. We are available to you and your family.
Below are a few gentle reminders about driving and parking lot safety:
Following the direction of our crossing guards and practicing safe driving while on school grounds is an expectation.
The drop-off and pick-up process will take longer the first two weeks of school until everyone learns the new routines.
Please note: Church Street in Carrollton has been closed to through traffic, and you may see barriers at the intersections of Church St. & Shattuck Rd. and Church St. & N. Michigan Avenue. If you usually take Church St. to reach the school, please plan ahead and use one of these alternate routes:
N. Michigan Ave. → Sunnyview → Mapleridge Rd.
N. Michigan Ave. → Schust Rd. → Mapleridge Rd.
Shattuck Rd. → Carrollton Rd. → Mapleridge Rd.
Thank you for choosing Carrollton Public Schools! I wish everyone a great first day and a productive school year! Please feel free to reach out to me as I would love to talk with you. I can be reached at (989) 754-1475, via email tpeterson@gocavs.net, or stop by the central office for a visit.
With sincere Cavalier Pride.
