On Tuesday, December 19, 2023, before the varsity basketball game begins (approximately 6:30pm), Carrollton Public Schools will dedicate the Carrollton High School basketball court as the “Coach Ron Vondette Basketball Court at Carrollton High School”. The dedication of the court honors the legacy of Mr. Ron Vondette, who served as the Varsity Boys Basketball Coach at Carrollton High School from 1965-1994, accumulating a 425-164 record, with 20 league championships, 7 district titles, 4 regional titles, and a Runner-Up in the 1969-70 State Championship Game.
In addition to remarks and the reveal of the sign before the game, a reception will be held in the cafeteria starting at half time for former Carrollton High School basketball players who would like to visit with Coach Vondette.
