A circular Carrollton Cavaliers logo is centered on a faded background of assorted healthy foods. The logo features a bold black-and-white illustration of a Cavalier with a hat, outlined by a red ring and red script lettering. Behind the logo, a light collage of fresh foods—such as blueberries, avocados, tomatoes, walnuts, broccoli, and peppers—fills the space, softly blurred to highlight the logo.

Carrollton Public Schools Expands Free After-School Dinner Program for Students

Carrollton Public Schools continues its commitment to student well-being by expanding its free after-school dinner program for students to more locations.

Beginning November 3, 2025, the Nutrition Services Department will open new supper sites at Omni High School and  the J.B. Griffin Early Childhood Education Building. Students at Carrollton Middle and High Schools already have access to this program, which provides a hot, nutritious meal immediately after school at no cost. “This expansion comes at a time when families are feeling stretched,” said Superintendent Tiffany Peterson. “By expanding after-school dinner options, we’re helping more families navigate through uncertain times.”

The At-Risk After School Supper Program, a federally funded initiative, ensures that students have access to healthy meals beyond the regular school day — supporting both nutrition and academic success. Meals typically include an entrée, fruit, vegetable, and milk, offering students balanced nutrition to fuel learning, activities, and growth. “Our Nutrition Services team is proud to serve students well beyond the school day,” said Jackie Coffey, Nutrition Services Director. “These dinners give students the energy they need to participate in after-school programs, sports, and homework — and help ensure that no child goes home hungry.”
